A two-story building was engulfed in flames in Memaliaj. As a result, three apartments were completely burned and three others were partially damaged. Fortunately, no one was injured.
About 30 officers from the Memaliaj firefighting forces, supported by the police forces, the Memaliaj Municipality and 1 fire engine from the Gjirokastër Municipality participated in the action to extinguish the flames, which lasted two and a half hours.
The cause of the fire is thought to be heating equipment left on overnight. The intervention of the fire brigade made it possible to put out the fire and save other apartments in the building.
All residents of the building were evacuated until the end of the operation and no residents were injured.
