Lawyer Arben Lena, at the same time the head of the Bar Association in Korça, was arrested at the request of the Special Prosecutor’s Office. SPAK suspects that Lena was involved in a corrupt scheme, which could not be realized, with the aim of illegally influencing the Court of Appeal in Korça, for the release of a person arrested for clandestine trafficking.
The investigations that led to the arrest of Lena are a follow-up to an investigation from 1 month ago, which brought 6 other people to criminal responsibility. By the decision of the Court, 3 of them, specifically the citizens Nikoll Hafesllari, Nikoll Jesku and Bledar Kozici, were locked in cells, while the other 3 were in “House Arrest” and “Compulsion to appear”.
SPAK says that Hafsellari and Jesku tried to pay 5 thousand Euros in order to soften the security measure for Bledar Kozic. Citizens Dajana Kodra and Arben Lena, both lawyers by profession, were part of these efforts according to SPAK. While Artiana Kozici, a family member of the person who was to be released, and Dritan Tabaku, are under investigation for not reporting a crime.
Those investigated in this file have fallen prey to wiretapping carried out for another investigation, while SPAK has several other people under verification.
