The famous actress Jamie Lee Curtis has shared on her Instagram a very important moment for her.

“25 years clean. Inside me there is already a feeling of calmness, peace, purpose… I am not alone, there are many others who have shared the same concern. For everyone still struggling with addiction, remember that there are people who can care for you. We are together!”, writes the actress.
Jamie has been 25 years away from opioid abuse. Years ago, she described these sedatives as “an internal demon that must be fought.” “I am lucky. I didn’t make decisions that I could regret for the rest of my life under their influence. There are women in prison whose lives have been ruined by drugs and alcohol. Not because they are violent criminals, not because they are horrible people, but because they are addicts. I am very lucky that this was not my path”, she said earlier.

In the recently posted photo, she is holding a ring that reads “JLC TWENTY FIVE”.

Opioids are drugs formulated to replicate the pain-inducing properties of opium. They include legal painkillers such as morphine, oxycodone or hydrocodone prescribed by doctors for acute or chronic pain, as well as illegal drugs such as heroin or illegally made fentanyl.

The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention say the leading cause of overdose deaths in America are synthetic opioids, mainly fentanyl, which can be up to 50 times stronger than heroin. Law enforcement officials say illegal fentanyl is made cheaply from chemicals that come mostly from China, trafficked through Mexico and then smuggled into the United States.
