This morning has brought an improvement in the weather in most of the country. The rains have stopped during the night hours, while in the areas where there was snowfall yesterday, the frosts are problematic, due to the decrease in temperatures.
Dibra was one of the counties where the snow thickness exceeded 25 cm. According to reports, after the cessation of snowfall, the temperatures in this region have dropped significantly. In the early hours of the morning, the thermometer marked -7° Celsius in the city of Peshkopia, while in Doda Castle it was -13° as a result of the strong wind. The roads are frozen and there is a significant reduction in traffic.
The cessation of rainfall has given time for the snow plows to advance in opening and salting them.
The Peshkopi-Bulqizë-Klos road is passable, while the police continue to keep the Arbri Road segment blocked from the Klos roundabout towards Qafa e Morrizi, until the thrown salt melts the ice that has layered on the asphalt. Until further notice, the crossing will be on the old road, from Burreli.
The Peshkopi-Kala e Doda-Kukas axis, passable with chains, had problems in a segment from Qafë Kalaja towards Vasia, due to the strong wind.
The Ura e Čerenecit-Librazhd axis is passable with chains up to the Ostren Administrative Unit, while further on it is blocked.
A part of the roads of the Administrative units, closest to the city, have been opened, while many of them continue to be blocked.
In the municipalities of Dibër, Bulqiza and Klos, which were the most affected by the bad weather, there were no problems with electricity.
From the Dibër Regional Hospital, it is announced that there were no emergency cases or calls for help from deep areas.
The deep mountainous areas continue to have problems with the interruption of electricity in the districts of Shkodra, Kukës.
Worrying are the frosts in some axes in the Korça district, due to temperatures a few degrees below zero. Authorities recommend winter tires for motorists.
