This Tuesday, the final document of the agreement on the recognition of Albania-Italy pensions was signed in Rome by the Foreign Ministers of the two countries, Igli Hasani and Antonio Tajani.
Hasani described it as “an important moment for the two countries after 15 years of effort”, expressing his gratitude to his Italian counterpart for his contribution. “I wish all the best to those who will benefit from this protocol”, the minister declared.
As Prime Minister Edi Rama announced today through a post on his Facebook, over 500,000 Albanians in Italy and thousands of Italian citizens in our country benefit from this important agreement between the states.
Good morning, and with the good news that today the final document of the long-awaited agreement on the mutual recognition of Social Security is signed in Rome, where over 500 thousand Albanian citizens in Italy and thousands of Italian citizens in Albania are direct beneficiaries of this agreement, I wish you a good day”, wrote Rama earlier.
The Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs announces that the agreement comes as an obligation and right to Albanian, Italian and Italo-Albanian citizens, who have worked with dedication for 30 years and have contributed to the economy and social progress of both countries ours.
Through the agreement, old-age pensions, insurance for sickness benefits, as well as unemployment insurance will be covered for both Albanians living in Italy and Italian citizens living and working in Albania and making their contributions here.
After signing, the agreement before entering into force must be ratified by the respective Assemblies.
