Located only 3 kilometers from Maliqi, the village of Kolanec lies along a wonderful mountain landscape, and is considered one of the most beautiful in the area. The investments made recently for the rehabilitation of internal cobblestone roads are expected to turn it into a tourist village. But for this, more attention is needed from the local government, to invest in the asphalting of the road that leads to this village, where not only the nature but also the old and characteristic houses stand out.
During our visit to the village of Kolanec, we met Drita Matoitin, who lives in Tirana. She tells us that for years she has been spending the summer months in this village, which is known for its history, climate, traditional products and cuisine, and very hospitable residents.

6 years ago, Drita bought a house in the village of Kolanec, choosing to spend the summer here away from the noise of the capital. After the investments made in this village, Drita is of the opinion that other residents will also start investing in this village, which has great tourist resources.
According to the residents, this investment was necessary and their early request. They say that the works that have been carried out have transformed the appearance of this village, thus increasing their interest in investing.

The project for the rehabilitation of internal cobbled roads in the village of Kolanec, Maliq municipality, is an investment of the Korça District Council, through European Union funds, in the amount of about 6 million lek. In addition to paving the internal roads of the village with cobblestones, the rehabilitation of the village taps and the installation of public lighting have also been done.
