The parliamentary session took place this Thursday, which was closed for only 12 minutes. The opposition continued with its action, but this time without lighting smokestacks and blocking the pulpit.
Asked outside the premises of the Assembly, Salianji said that the opposition does not withdraw from its demands and there will be no normal parliament until they are realized.
Regarding today’s opposition action, Salianji said that there is only diversification of it and the goal is to show the public in different ways that the interests of the citizens are not being represented.
“There is no fear, you have seen the action continues in the same way. The blocking of normal parliamentary life continues in the same way until the realization of our demands. There is no doubt that there must be diversification. There is no doubt that the action will take its own form from week to week. there is withdrawal from our demands, there will be no withdrawal from our demands and there will be no normal session and parliament until our demands are fulfilled”, said Salianji.
But what are the DP’s demands? Salianji said that it is required that the DP is properly represented in the Electoral Reform Commission by having the co-chairman in its ranks, the investigative commissions and that the majority does not enter the internal affairs of the DP.
“We are looking for the co-chairman of the electoral reform commission, as you have seen, 47 MPs who make up the majority of the parliamentary group, or the opposition parliamentary groups, ask to have their representation in the electoral reform commission, and proportionality is welcome in the meantime. It is not possible for a grouping with 7 deputies to have 4 representatives and the opposition groupings, together with the largest party which is the DP and the parliamentary group of the DP not have the representation of the co-president.
Despite the fact that we have proven and convinced the public opinion regarding the fear that the majority and Edi Rama have to face the parliamentary investigation on issues that we have requested, which fact is that they are involved in corrupt affairs or fears that they want to cover up with non-transparency or non-control and non-parliamentary investigation.
The other request we have is not to interfere in the internal affairs of the DP parliamentary group”, said Salianji.
