About 300 cases of online bullying or harassment were reported by women and girls across the country last year.
The data is confirmed by the Monitoring Network Against Gender-Based Violence, which emphasizes that some forms of violence are facilitated by technology and communication platforms, such as: Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, e-mail or messages through Skype, Snapchat, messenger and Viber.

For the experts who deal with the case, some steps should be taken urgently, not only to identify the cases, but also to punish the people who commit such acts.
“This year we have the largest increase in girls, women who report or who are mostly victims of violence”.

To avoid this phenomenon, the campaign for safe internet has also been launched. “We are dealing with a national pact where we intend to go further, perhaps and have a future bill, to punish those persons responsible for online violence”, said the expert.

The most recent and most common case is that of a 41-year-old woman, mother of four children, who committed suicide after her husband’s violence, based on the denigration of her on social networks.
